Scarce three quarters view in uniform, second generation from life. Photog backmark: “B. & G. Moses, New Orleans.”
MOST HISTORIC FROM PERSPECTIVE OF SUBJECT AND PHOTOGRAPHERS.
The Moses Brothers were the premier photographers in the wartime Crescent City. Bernard and Gustave Moses both joined Company D of the 21st Louisiana Infantry on February 1, 1862 in Columbus, Kentucky (captain and private respectively).
