(The Chavoth Yair). Chut Hashani [responsa].

FIRST EDITION. Manuscript index (8-page) at end written in a contemporary hand.
ff. 115. Ex-library, foxed, signatures oxidized on title. Modern calf. 4to. Vinograd, Frankfurt a/Main 44.
(Frankfurt a/ Main): 1679

The work primarily presents Teshuvoth of the author’s father and grandfather, the former being the rabbi of Worms. R. Yair Chaim Bacharach (1638-1702) is known for his systematic approach to Talmudic literature and Halacha based upon his exhaustive knowledge of all branches of Jewish scholarship as well as the sciences. According to Weiner, (no. 3968-A), this first edition of the Chut HaShani contains more material than all later editions.
