HAGER, ELIEZER (Damesek Eliezer, 1891-1946). Letter Signed and stamped, written on letterhead in Hebrew to Hanhalat Va'ad HaYeshivot of Jerusalem.
This is a three part notice to the administrative faculty of the Vizhnitz yeshiva. It lets them know that a Mr. Ariel is donating seven pairs of shoes that may be distributed to needy students (and lists the shoe-size). The second informs them that "the great Gaon" Rabbi Aharon Kotler is to visit the yeshiva. R. Hager notes that to his sorrow he will not be able to be present due to poor health (he was suffering from cancer at the time). Finally, he requests that he be sent the budget for his review.
One page, punch-holes (torn). 8vo. Tel Aviv 28th Shevat 1946
R. Eliezer Hager, the "Damesek Eliezer, " was the son of the previous Vishnitzer Rebbe, R. Yisrael Hager, the "Ahavas Yisroel". He escaped Nazi-run Europe and reached Israel via Timisoara, thereafter he established the Vizhnitz Yeshiva in Tel-Aviv. This letter displays the Rebbe's intimate involvement in all details relating to his followers and students.
