Five Books of the Torah - Slavita, 1816 - Damaged and Incomplete Copies
Five Books of the Torah, with Rashi, Onkelos and the Baal HaTurim commentary. [Slavita]: R. Moshe Shapiro, [1816]. Five volumes. Title pages printed in red and black (title pages for Vayikra and Devarim volumes only).
Signatures in Sephardic script on title pages of Vayikra and Devarim. A few glosses in Bereshit part.
Copies damaged and lacking (at beginning, middle and end). Five volumes. Bereshit: 9-210, 212-242 leaves. Shemot: 3-46, 49-214, 217-220, 225-228; 29 leaves. Vayikra: 162, 165-167 leaves. Lacking 7 leaves (163-164, 168-172). Bamidbar: 9-67, 69-173, 183-184 leaves. Devarim: 7, 9-26, 28-31, 33-170; 10 leaves.
Approx. 18 cm. Fair to fair-poor condition. Many stains. Significant wear and creases. Open tears to many leaves, affecting text (paper repairs to several leaves). Worming, affecting text (with significant damage in one volume). Detached leaves. Handwritten inscriptions. Without bindings.
