DOCUMENT LOT – WOLKOWYSK SURVIVORS’ ORGANIZATION
Lot – documents, pictures, letters and booklets from the years 1945-48 that deal with the city of Wołkowysk (Vawkavysk) in Belarus. Written by Holocaust survivors who were former residents of the city, and collected by the Wołkowysk survivors’ organization, also for the completion of the book The Destruction of Wolkowysk (1946). Includes correspondences of survivors gathered in Lodz and UNRWA refugee camps in Italy with the organization of Wolkowysk emigrants in Israel. The survivors abroad write that soon they will escape to Israel. Additionally, includes letters by dignitaries such as Heinrich Loewe and Rabbi Isser Yehuda Unterman, signed by hand.
Most documents in Yiddish, several in Hebrew.
