Description: A contemporary modernist Canary Arc console table by David Hymes, composed of multiply birch plywood glued, stacked and carved in a precatalyzed lacquer finish, with a South American Canarywood top layer and a boat shaped 1/2" Starfire Clear Glass top.
Artist's Statement: My design approach is intuitive and collaborative with the emphasis on balancing aesthetic form and functional quality. I specialize in unique custom woodworking, creating functional sculptures, furniture, cabinetry and one-of-a-kind pieces, blending artistic intuition with a lyrical sensitivity for materials. My furnishings reflect and enhance my clients? personal space and aesthetics. The resulting piece is intended to be viewed as art, and function as furniture.
