A PAIR OF RUSSIAN FABERGE SILVER TEA GLASS HOLDERS WITH GILT-RIMMED GLASSES
A nicely crafted pair of Russian silver tea glass holders produced by the House of Faberge. The holders are decorated with a repeating pattern of wreaths and garlands held up by swans atop foliate pedestals, their wings outstretched and heads lowered. The handles are of an abstract, swirling foliate shape. The glasses themselves are cylindrical, with a concave bottom and a brightly gilt rim.
The undersides of the holders show various stamped marks including the Russian Imperial Eagle, an 88 silver kokoshnik hallmark, and the K. Faberge mark, as well as the mark A.N which indicates creation by the Finnish craftsman Antti Nevalainen.
Russia, ca. 1885-1917
Silver weight: Each holder is 3.2 ounces or 90 grams.
