A SET OF 4 JAPANESE SILVER SAKE CUPS OF THE METROPOLITAN POLICE DEPARTMENT, SHOWA ERA
Four silver sake cups given as an award for 30 years of service to the Superintendent General of Police in the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, the highest rank attainable. 3 of the cups bear a gilt 'Asahikage' or 'Morning Sunlight' symbol, the emblem of the Japanese Police. The fourth cup bears a gilt representation of the Imperial Chrysanthemum Seal, the symbol of the Japanese Imperial Family. Each of the cups is marked underneath with the text 'Silver F' as well as text in Kanji along the underside of the rims. The box bears a gilt kanji inscription on the top and is tied shut with a purple ribbon.
