A GREEK, BLACK GLAZED, WINE DRINKING VESSEL, MELON SHAPED, 3RD CENTURY BC

An Ancient Greek wine drinking vessel with a single handle and a ribbed melon shaped body that tapers to a waisted foot with a carinated rim. The narrow neck concaves towards the thin, slightly rounded rim. To the underside, a red concentric ring rounds the bottom of the body with the same red hue on the outside and interior of the base.

Ancient Greece - 3rd Century BC

H: 4 in., (10 cm.)

Condition: Very good overall. Slight fading of glaze on the sides and along the rim. Chipping in places. See photos for reference.
