A SET OF FOUR MEISSEN FIGURINES OF MUSICIANS BY PAUL SCHEURICH

Four comic figurines of dwarf musicians modeled by Paul Scheurich (1883-1945) after drawings by Callot. The figurines include a guitar player, a singer, a piper and a drummer. Each figurine is marked underglaze with Meissen blue crossed swords and numbered in gold 090/100.
Paul Scheurich was a German painter, sculptor and graphic designer. From 1918 to 1936, he created a series of exceptional designs for the Meissen Porcelain Factory. Scheurich is considered one of the most prominent porcelain sculptors of the first half of 20th century.
