A RUSSIAN IMPERIAL PORCELAIN FACTORY CUP AND SAUCER, C. 1890
St. Petersburg, Imperial Porcelain Factory, 1889, 1896.
A Russian porcelain cup and saucer from the Grand Peterhof Palace Banquet Service, period of Alexander III and Nicholas II.
Both pieces are decorated with cobalt blue 'cabbage leaf' patterns enclosing polychrome bouquets and floral sprays.
The cup is marked with the green cipher for Nicholas II and dated 1896.
The saucer is marked with the green cipher for Alexander III and dated 1889.
Cup H: 12 1/2 in., ( 6 cm.)
Saucer: D: 5 1/2 in., (14 cm.)
Condition: Small scattered areas of rubbing to gilding, otherwise in good condition.
