A PERSIAN 19TH CEN. JAMBIYA DAGGER IN SILVER MOUNTS
The blade is of a characteristic form, slightly curved, diamond-shaped cut, double-edged made of Damascus steel. The scabbard mounts are made of silver decorated with engraving and niello. The grip is carved and embellished with floral motifs.
Persia, mid. 19th century.
L: 14 in., (35.5 cm.)
Condition: Good overall, the scabbard leather has ben replaced.
