AN OPEN WORK BRASS INDIAN ANKUS, 19TH CENTURY
An Indian brass open work elephant goad or ankus, 19th century. The openwork shaft with small bells ends with an expanding engraved handle. In the upper part, there is a faceted point. The head of the ankus is cast of bronze in the form of an elephant and a dragon on opposite sides.
L: 23 13/16 in., (60.5 cm.)
Condition: Very good.
