Revolutionary Greek War period (1821 - 1829) shamshir sword with chased silver mounts equipped with two loose silver suspension rings and hilt. The blade is single-edged and curved with a pointy tip.

Revolutionary Greek War period (1821 - 1829) shamshir sword with chased silver mounts equipped with two loose silver suspension rings and hilt. The blade is single-edged and curved with a pointy tip.

A similar sword is depicted in the image of Demetrius Mavromichalis, a Greek soldier and patriot, 1825 (litho) by Louis Dupre (1789-1837). Please note the image of Demetrius Mavromichalis is provided as a reference only and is not a part of this lot.

Condition: The blade is clean and sharp, the hilt is tight, the scabbard is complete with two original unrestored mounts showing minor signs of wear.
