A MINIATURE WATERCOLOR PAINTING BY WILLARD M. MITCHELL
Miniature watercolor on paper painting depicting Dutch ships in harbor by Willard Morse Mitchell (Canadian, 1879/1881 - 1955). Matted and framed. Please refer to the paper label attached to the backside. Willard Morse Mitchell was a painter, architect, carver, draftsman and educator. His primary medium was miniature watercolor and gouache paintings of landscapes, historic sites, snowscapes, street scenes and winter sports. He carved their frames and attached labels on the backs of each work. The painting’s locations included Quebec, Ontario, Nova Scotia, Italy, Morocco and Greece. His style could be described as Naturalism or Realism.
Dimensions: 1 3/4 x 1 7/8 in., (4.5 x 4.8 cm.)
Condition: Very good.
