A RUSSIAN ST. GEORGE AWARD SWORD SHASHKA FOR BRAVERY
An Imperial Russian award sword (shashka) with an order of St. George award for bravery, with a German-made engraved blade. The scabbard is of stitched leather with gilt bronze mounts. the hilt is engraved with the words "For Bravery" and cipher of Nicholas II. On the forte, the blade is inscribed "Order W.Sabinin Moskau". Ca. 1900.
Dimensions: L: 37 3/16 in., (94.5 cm.)
Condition: Good, signs of wear with age on the scabbard, some platina on hilt, blade is slightly pitted.
