A NAZI GERMAN WW2 KRIEGSMARINE AUXILIARY CRUISER BADGE
A Nazi German WW2 Kriegsmarine Auxiliary Cruiser war badge produced in zinc. Depicts a Viking longship sailing over the northern hemisphere of the globe surrounded by a laurel wreath of oak leaves. At the apex of the badge is a German Eagle clutching a swastika. The wreath, eagle, and ship are gilt and the globe area is colored gray. Designed by Wilhelm Ernst Peekhaus in Berlin. The reverse is marked with the name and location of the manufacturer Schwerin, Berlin. Complete with a vertical tapered pin back with an integral hinge and a crimped flat wire catch.
