A BHUJ OR KUTTI, INDIA, GUJARAT, 19TH CENTURY
Battleax with a single-edged steel blade decorated on both sides with dotted foliage, copper guard in the shape of an elephant head, hollow shaft containing a small screw-in knife, an openwork sheath decorated with floral motif. Scabbard covered with dark-blue velvet, openwork copper mounts decorated with pierced flowers design.
Dimensions: L: 27 1/4 in., (69 cm.)
Condition: Very good with expected signs of wear
