Homilies and explanations on the miracles of Chanukah and Purim, and other matters regarding the holidays, from Rabbi Dov Ber Schneerson, son of the Baal HaTanya.


A handwritten index with several signatures is included at the end of the sefer.

There is a censorship signature at the end of the introduction from 1837, dating back to the era of the Russian censorship on Hebrew books.

Rabbi Dovber Schneersohn (1773-1827), known by all as the “Mitteler Rebbe, ” was the renowned Admor of Chabad. He disseminated and taught the Torah of his father, the Admor Rabbi Shneur Zalman of Liadi. He began leading as Admor in 1813 and continued until his passing in 1827.

This first edition was published in Kapost, 1822.
