MATVEI ZAKHAROV MARSHAL OF THE SOVIET UNION
(1898-1972) Marshal of the Soviet Union, during WWII he was Chief of Staff of the Kalinin Front and Chief of Staff of the Steppe Front, renamed the 2nd Ukrainian Front, he helped plan a number of brilliant operations against German forces. After the war, he became Deputy Minister of Defense and again Chief of the General Staff. The document is the military attestation of the Deputy of Military Attache in Czechoslovakia Major Nikoli Zverev. Comrade Zakharov signed on the bottom of the 2nd page as the Head of the 2nd Main Department of Stuff of Armed Forces of the USSR, General of Army. Dated 1949. 11.5 x 7.75 inches. Trimmed on left edge.
