ZEPPELIN LZ 4 CRASH SOUVENIR SPOON
Zeppelin LZ 4 historic souvenir spoon cast from the remaining aluminium of the crashed airship, 8.25 inches long, the handle engraved with the facsimile signature of Graf Ferdinand von Zeppelin 'In memory of 5 August 1908'. On the back, the handle is engraved with an image of the Zeppelin above Mainz am Rhein and the inscription 'Cast from the remains of the Zeppelin Airship' and the maker's mark 'Wilh. Berg Luedenscheid'. The spoon is loosely attached to an album page accompanied by a note reading in German: 'Historic souvenir spoon. cast from the remains of the Zeppelin airship L.Z. 4 which burned on 5 August 1908 bei Echterdingen, Swabia.' With a period print of Ferdinand von Zeppelin attached to the back of the album page.
Historical souvenir spoon. Poured from the remnants of the near Echterdingen, in Swabia on the Zeppelin airship. In the front image Dr. ing. Dr. F. Von Zeppelin Friedrichschafen a. B., 1. Nov. 1913, 5.25 x 7 inches. Engraved on the back 'Fegossen aus dem Restendes Zeppelin Luftschiffs' maker markar Wilh.berg Ludenscheid.
