WEHRMACHT DRUMMER CAVALRYMAN PAINTED ON TILE
Large German stove tile decorated with a German army drummer cavalryman painted in green onto the yellow glazed ceramic tile. The tile is 10 x 10 inches and was once set into a round 'Kachelofen' (tile stove) for heating purposes. The tile shows an old repair of a crack, running from top to bottom.
