Late 19th Century Black Skirt and Petticoat. The pairing includes a late 19th century black skirt and black petticoat. Featuring 1 black silk skirt with 6 pointed tabs (3 on either side) with black silk covered button accents. It has hook and eye closures down the back and wool braid tabs at the waist and wool braid at the hem. Laying flat it measures: waist: 14.5'', length: 37''. It is in fair/poor condition with several large tears and the silk beginning to shatter. There is also wear to the silk covered buttons. Also included is 1 open weave stiff cotton mesh black petticoat featuring vertical pickups throughout the entire skirt. It has a silk waistband with ties and hook and eye closures down the back and the internal seams are covered in black chintz. Laying flat it measures: waist: 15'', front length 39'', back length 41''. It is in fair condition with shattering to the silk waistband and several holes throughout the petticoat.
