Group includes 2 vintage c1940s Floral Applique Summer Quilts. c1940s Flower Basket Summer Quilt measures 65 x 82 inches. Comprised of 20 Flower Basket blocks, 13 x 13 inches, set straight, 4 by 5, with 1.5 pink sashing and 4.25 pink border. It is machine pieced, hand appliquéd, hand embroidered, and hand quilted. There is no batting but there is a pretty pink print reverse. The edge is finished with the back with the front brought to the back and applied by hand. It is in fair condition with overall toning spots, and discolorations. Along with a Floral Applique Sampler Summer Quilt measuring 64 x 83 inches. Comprised of 12 blocks, 16.5 x 16.5 inches, set straight, 3 by 4, with an 8 inch pale yellow border. It is machine pieced, hand appliquéd, and hand embroidered. There is no batting or quilting, but there is a pale yellow cotton reverse in the edges are finished knife edge style by machine. It is in fair condition with several dark spots and discolorations including fold line discolorations. These quilts are part of the Estate of widely respected Sharon Stark of Sharon's Antiques Vintage Fabrics and Textiles of Eastern PA. She was an author and long time collector and dealer of antique quilts, fabrics and textiles. Sharon was THE authority on Feedsacks, and you may remember her Rickrack website.
