Gene (Charles Eugene) Klebe (1907 - 2009) "Bear Attack" Illustration , Watercolor and goauche on board, piece measures 17 x 13 and 25.5 x 20.5 inches w/ frame.K lebe studied at the Philadelphia College of Art and the University of Pennsylvania. He worked as a U.S. Navy combat artist (he has a number of paintings in the U.S. Navy and Marine Art Gallery), was an award-winning member of the American Watercolor Society and the National Academy of Design. He exhibited widely including exhibitions with AWCS, NAD, Allied Artists of America, Baltimore Watercolor Club, and many others. He has work in numerous major collections. He was featured in Downeast Magazine and American Artist Magazine.
