Saul Kaminer (Born 1952) Lithograph on paper, Titled "Amor Lejano" and signed and dated bottom right "S. Kaminer 94" Numbered E.A. XXV/XXX with Kaminer Stamp on bottom left edge of paper. Piece measures 30 x 21 inches unframed, never restored and in good condition. Saúl Kaminer was born in Mexico on July 8, 1952. Saul's first visit to an art museum changes his life, when he visited the Museo de Arte Moderno de la Cuidad de México to see the Frida Kalho. He began studying architecture at the age of 17, but also started painting. He lists his primary influences as Van Gogh, Tamayo, Lam, Matta and the surrealist movement. In 1976, after attending a lecture by Henry Miller, he started to travel to the world. Stops included Italy, France, Guatemala and Egypt. It was during this time he started to develop his themes for his paintings, and afterwards began his career with his first exposition in France.
