Joseph Glotzer (1914 - 2007) American
Joseph Glotzer (1914 - 2007) Oil Painting, signed lower right, measures 4 x 4 inches and 6 x 7 inches. Joseph Glotzer left Europe, fleeing Nazi occupation during WWII, and took up residence in the United States, in Yarmouth, in the Cape Cod area. He was known in Europe as a genre, city and landscape painter. In the Cape Cod area, he painted the local landscape, harbors and the sea. Oddly, he also painted clowns and romanticized pictures of waif like children, a popular and probably lucrative theme in the 1950's.
