2 Acoma Pueblo Pots
NOT ELIGIBLE FOR IN-HOUSE SHIPPING; Two very unusual Acoma Pueblo pots. The first is an olla decorated with deer having the famed heartline (a red arrow emerging from the animal pointing outward) that is usually associated with the Zuni. The pot is signed Acoma on the bottom suggesting an early 20th century date when such pots were marked purely with the pueblo for resale to tourists in Gallup. The second is a shallow unmarked bowl with a large dung beetle painted onto the white ground of the inside. Such beetles are known on pottery from several pueblos but this appears to be the work of an Acoma potter. Unsigned.  Measurement: 6-1/2" to 11-1/2" diameter Condition: Overall good, beetle bowl has crack.
