(Maine/England. 1831-1915), view of the bridge over the Presumpscot River, Portland, Maine, oil on canvas, 12 x 12.5 inches, unsigned. Inscribed on stretcher “Presented to Julia I. Crosby Robinson 1880 by Aunt Caroline Riggs. It is the bridge over the Presumpscot River near Riverton in Portland. Brown was a Portland artist who achieved fame abroad where he spent his later lifeâ€, also inscribed “Painted by Harry Brown in the early (70’s) seventiesâ€, original lemon gold frame.
