Copies of the inscriptions of tombstones from the old Jewish cemetery of Frankfurt-am-Main, by R. Mordechai HaLevi Horowitz. Frankfurt. 1901. [2], 768, 6, LIII pp. [2 photograph pages], 21 cm.

Only edition. This book icludes copies of inscriptions from over 5,000 tombstones covering a time span from 1272 until 1845. With an introduction, index, additional title page and a long introduction in German. There are two full-page photographs of early tombstones. R. Mordechai HaLevi Horowitz was the son-in-law of R. Yaakov Ettlinger, author of the Aruch LaNer, and served as Rabbi of Frankfurt. He authored Mateh Levi in two volumes (Frankfurt, 1891–1933).

This work is of significant historical value for the study of the Jewish community of Frankfurt.

The book is in very good condition.
