EGYPTIAN FAIENCE FIGURE
Late Period, Ca. 664 - 332 BC.A faience figure depicted standing in a frontal pose. The figure has a slender, elongated form, with arms held tightly by the sides of the body and hands positioned along the thighs. The head features a rounded contour with a prominent uraeus centrally positioned on the forehead. The facial details include almond-shaped eyes, a straight nose, and a small mouth, all delicately outlined. The figure is adorned with a tripartite wig, with two broad side sections falling over the shoulders and a central section extending down the back. The torso displays a faint indication of anatomical detail, including a defined waistline, while the lower portion transitions into a flaring garment resembling a kilt or skirt.Size: 60mm x 21mm; weight 14gProvenance: Private UK collection; acquired on the UK art market, pre-2000.
