An antique late 18th century Russian Orthodox icon representing Saint George slaying the dragon. Mixed media painting: egg tempera, gesso, and levkas on a wood board with gilding. Titled in Church Slavonic, upper to the center. The piece comes with a paper sheet, inscribed, Expert for Russian icons paintings, Erich M.Mautner, Vienna, Herreng, bought by G.Mehring on March 21, 1980, on the backside.
