CENTRAL AFRICAN BAKONGO WOODEN NKISI DOG FIGURE W NAILS
A Central African wooden nkisi kozo dog fetish figure from the Bakongo people of the Congo region, circa 19th to 20th century. The figure represents a hand carved dog with an open mouth and is pierced with nails. The neck is wrapped with fabrics, and the head is decorated with glass eyes. It is believed that nails driven into the figure activate its power. The Nkisi Kozo plays an important role in the world of experience.
