An antique 19th-century Russian Orthodox icon representing Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker, one of the most celebrated saints of the Orthodox church. The figure of the saint is flanked by Jesus Christ and Mother of God, as well as guardian angel and undesignated male saint. Mixed media painting: egg tempera, gesso, and levkas on a wood board. Titled in Church Slavonic above. Russian Icon Painting, Christian Religious Items and Collectibles.
