ANTIQUE 19TH C RUSSIAN ORTHODOX ENAMEL BRASS ICON
A large antique brass and enamel icon showing Hodegetria of Smolensk with Deesis. In the center of the icon is the Mother of God with the Christ on her left hand. The medallions shows the Savior Almighty, the Mother of God and John the Baptist, the archangels Michael and Gabriel, the apostles Peter and Paul. In the bottom row in the center are Saints Nicholas the Wonderworker and Leonty of Rostov. Cast in relief and covered with polychrome enamel. Russia, 19th century.
