A rare Russian magazine, Book and Revolution, # 5. Published by State Publishing House, Moscow, 1929. Original two-color Constructivist photomontage (a photo of The overthrow of the Vendome Column by the Communards) wrappers by Varvara Stepanova (Russian, 1894-1958). Published two times a month. Managing editor: P.M. Kerzhentsev. The tasks of the journal: a decisive struggle against all manifestations of anti-proletarian tendencies in the field of science, literature and art, helping the reader in using the book and the journal as a tool of social construction.
