RICHARD EARLOM AFTER CLAUDE LORRAIN 1774 LANDSCAPE PRINT
Mezzotint intaglio print on paper. English, late 18th century. After the 1663 painting titled Paysage avec Tobie et l Ange, Landscape with Tobias and the Angel, by Claude Lorrain, 1600 to 1682, a French landscape artist of the Baroque era. Inscriptions underneath: Claude le Lorrain delinquit. Published September 1st, 1774 by John Boydell engraver in Cheapside. R. Earlom fecit. Plate no. 50, From the Original Drawing in the Collection of Duke of Devonshire. Richard Earlom, 1743 to 1822, was an English mezzotinter. John Boydell, 1719 to 1804, was a leading London print publisher. White mat, golden frame. Collectible European Graphic Art Prints.
