ANTIQUE 19TH C SET OF NESTED CUP WEIGHTS 8 PIECES
An antique 19th century European set of nested cup weights, a total of 8 pieces, made in the form of cup weights, each of which is inserted into the other. Used by merchants mainly for weighing coins. Each weighs exactly twice as much as the previous one in the set. The main container is decorated along the body, has a hinged lid and corresponds to the total weight of all the weights in the set. Historically, they were made from alloys of different metals.
