An antique late 18th-century American engraved map on paper. Titled Plan of the City of Washington in the Territory of Columbia, ceded by the States of Virginia and Maryland to the United States of America, and by then established as the Seat of their Government, after the Year MDCCC. Engraved by Thackara and Vallance, Philadelphia, 1792. Designed by Andrew Ellicott, based on Pierre Charles L Enfants manuscript plan, which was adopted by Congress as the final plan for the federal city of Washington. Grey mat, black frame.
