An antique Persian foldable Quran stand. Qajar dynasty, 19th century. Wooden stand decorated in Khatam technique, classic geometrical star pattern in red, black, and yellow. Hand-painted underside. Pierced figurative details. Signs of damage. Khatam Kari, or Khatamkari, is a Persian art of marquetry or mosaic inlay using small pieces of metal, wood or natural materials.
