A Mid century limited edition print The Hunter by John Wesley Dennis. The print depicts a hunter in a red hunting suit on a large strong horse jumping over a wooden fence. A beagle hunting dog is running in the background, and a rider in a dark dress is also jumping over a fence behind her on another horse. In the middle below is the inscription The Hunter by Wesley Dennis. Limited edition by Wesley Dennis originals. Signed in pencil lower light and numbered 125 of 950. Comes with a certificate of authenticity. Matted and framed. John Wesley Dennis, 1903 to 1966, was an American illustrator, known best for fifteen childrens books about horses that he created in collaboration with writer Marguerite Henry. He illustrated over 150 books in his lifetime, including Anna Sewells Black Beauty and John Steinbecks The Red Pony. He also wrote and illustrated a few books of his own, among which are Flip, Flip and the Cows, Flip and the Morning, and Tumble. American Art, Mid Century Prints And Multiples For Wall Decor.
