Thomas Gold Appleton, American, 1812 to 1884, antique etching on paper, depicting a puritan couple of a husband and a wife walking through the snow to church, he carries a riffle in his hand, she carries a book or a bible, 1884. Engraved by George Henry Boughton, Anglo American, 1834 to 1905. Signed and dated in the plate lower left. Signed in pencil lower right. Signed by the engraver in pencil lower left. Framed. Thomas Gold Appleton, son of merchant Nathan Appleton and Maria Theresa Gold, was an American writer, an artist, and a patron of the fine arts. George Henry Boughton was an Anglo American landscape and genre painter, illustrator and writer. Antique Graphic Art Prints and Collectibles.

Condition: Overall good vintage condition. Signs of age and wear. Frame has a lot of damage. There are water and mold stains all around the piece. Refer to photos. Sold As Is.
