JAPANESE MEIJI COVERED TRIPOD CLOISONNE ENAMEL JAR
An antique Japanese, late Meiji Era, covered tripod enamel over brass koro type jar. The ware is adorned with polychrome medallions depicting Phoenix birds, floral, foliage butterfly, and scrollwork patterns made in the Cloisonne technique. The cover features a figural finial, covered with polychrome floral and foliage ornaments made in the same technique. The borders are decorated with polychrome floral and geometrical ornaments made in the same technique. Mounted on three legs. Unmarked. Circa: late 19th century to early 20th century.
