ANTIQUE JAPANESE MEIJI SATSUMA POTTERY VASES
A pair of antique Japanese Satsuma pottery vases. Late Meiji era, before 1912. Rounded pieces with short neck. The pieces are hand-painted with depictions of Japanese elders and officials and calligraphy. Garnished with gilding. Hieroglyohically marked on the bottom, Kinkozan Tsukuru. Satsuma ware is a type of Japanese pottery which originated in Satsuma Province, since the 19th century it was mainly produced for Western export and therefore elaborately decorated. Kinkozan was one of the main ceramic dynasties of Satsuma ware. Collectible Oriental Asian Decor For Interior Design, Japanese Pottery.
