A lot of Civil War era US fractional currency. 3 Cents banknote, Third issue, Fr.1226, with George Washington on the obverse. 10 Cents banknote, Third issue, Fr.1254, with green reverse, with George Washington on the obverse. 10 Cents banknote, Fifth issue, Fr.1265, with red seal, the bust of William Meredith is featured on the obverse. 25 Cents banknote, Third issue, Fr.1294, green reverse, with William Fessenden on the obverse. 50 Cents banknote, First issue, Fr.1312, with monogram, with George Wahington on the obverse. Fractional currency, also referred to as shinplasters, was introduced by the US federal government due to the coin shortage during the Civil War.
