ANTIQUE BLANC DE CHINE PORCELAIN GUANYIN FIGURE
An antique Chinese, Late Qing dynasty, Blanc de Chine glazed porcelain sculpture. Circa: late 19th century. The artwork represents Guanyin, a character of Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, and Japanese mythology, a bodhisattva or a deity who appears mainly in a female form, saving people from all sorts of disasters. She is dressed in flowing robes and standing on a lotus base with lotus flowers in her hands. Marked with an impressed stamp, and a China mark, on the backside. Dehua porcelain, also known as Blanc de Chine, is a type of white Chinese porcelain made at Dehua in the Fujian province. The special characteristic of Dehua porcelain is the very small amount of iron oxide in it, allowing it to be fired in an oxidizing atmosphere to a warm white or pale color. Total weight: 342 g. Antique and Vintage Asian and Oriental Porcelain Figurines, Figures, Statues, Oriental Buddhist Art, Home Decor, and Collectibles.
Dimensions: H 9 1/4 in. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: Overall good vintage condition. Signs of age and wear. One of the hands is missing. Refer to photos. Sold As Is.
