A British colored etching print titled Dramatic Action Illustrated, or Hamlets Advice to Players, Suit the Action to the Word, and the Word to the Action depicting six almost equal compartments arranged in two rows. Coates stands in six different attitudes in the dress he wore as Lothario. Each design has a caption describing an ill-conceived gesture: Through (Thrust your hands forward), Wide (Spread out your Arms), Circle (Describe a circle with your finger), Of Ten (Hold up both your Hands), Revolving (Describe a circle backwards with your hand), Years (Lay hold of your Ears).
