ANTIQUE BRONZE LAMP WITH COSSACK AFTER LANCERAY
An antique bronze lamp featuring a sculpture of a cossack on horseback after Evgeny Lanceray, one of the most celebrated sculptors of the Russian Empire. Yevgeny Yevgenyevich Lanceray, 1875 to 1946, also often spelled Eugene Lansere, was a Russian graphic artist, painter, sculptor, mosaicist and illustrator, associated stylistically with Mir iskusstva, the World of Art. The highly detailed sculpture depicts a mounted Cossack warrior dressed in traditional clothing, while the lamp itself presents a tree stem with a bronze shade with multicolor glass inserts. Circa the early 20th century. Antique Russian Bronze Sculptures And Lightening Collectibles.
