CAST BRASS JAILERS MATCHLOCK MECHANISM KEY PISTOL
A nice key-shaped matchlock pistol cast in yellow brass, with a cast brass trigger. Such pistols were used in the jails back in the 1850s by guards. The jailer could use the same object to open the cell door and also defend himself, in case the prisoner inside tried to escape. Antique And Vintage Guns And Firearms For Collectors.
