JAPANESE COLOR WOODBLOCK PRINT BY UTAGAWA KUNISADA
Utagawa Kunisada, Japanese, 1786 to 1865, also known as Utagawa Toyokuni III, colored woodblock print on paper, Yoshitsune Ichidai Ki no Uchi, Kiichi Hogens daughter Mina Tsuruhime gave her the volume of Rokuto Sanryaku, achieved military arts, and her name will be remembered in posterity, 1843. Inscribed in the print upper left. Signed, inscribed and stamped lower right. Utagawa Kunisada was a Japanese ukiyo-e artist. He is considered the most popular, prolific and commercially successful designer of ukiyo e woodblock prints in 19th-century Japan.
